Significant Energy Savings at Cargomind Headquarters in Vienna
Energy consumption at Cargomind’s headquarters at Freudenau Harbor in Vienna has been significantly reduced through a comprehensive optimization of the building’s technical systems. As part of the project “Process and System Optimization – Measurement, Control and Automation Technology (MSRL)”, a modern control system for the heating systems in both the warehouse and the office building was installed.
The results are substantial: During the first ten months of 2025, gas consumption was reduced by 78% compared to 2019. Purchased electricity consumption also decreased by 54%. According to calculations by Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH, this corresponds to an annual reduction of 38.4 tons of CO₂ emissions.
“By implementing intelligent controls for our heating systems and converting the office heating to a heat pump, we were able to significantly reduce our energy consumption. This demonstrates that targeted technical measures can make sense both environmentally and economically,” says Thomas Klinglhuber, CFO of Cargomind.
With these initiatives, Cargomind is taking another step toward more energy-efficient and sustainable operations.
